I have since lost my ability to Talk and my doctors have told me that I have only a few weeks to live. Thanks, PingJ. I'm currently reading The Screwtape Letter, and remember the case of Father Bill's preaching, and I think your response is head on. The devil won't stop at stopping us from getting closer to God. It so easy to speak about Joy, but I find that it's very hard to permanently have it. I think it's one of the main testament of our Faith, and I admit that I struggle on this one. Thanks, too, empauls. But your comment didn't really help. Read PingJ's comment, and ask yourself if you have the same joy that he mentioned. If you think/claim you are a Christian, you might want to check your attitude again. - ren

Bro. Ren, I believe even as we listen to preachers, we need the divine intervention of the Holy Spirit because the evil one will always try to find a way to steal our attention from receiving God's words of life. Preachers do take a lot of effort to get the audience listening, and making jokes is sometimes a more effective way to make the audience remember what the talk was all about because the joke got somebody's attention to the message. I do believe too that when we pray to God, we are communicating to our FATHER. I and my FATHER are quite close and I do believe He is one with the best sense of humor because he always finds a way to make me laugh and smile amidst my troubled times. I do believe too that those people in the audience listening to Fr. Bill were truly blessed because they had 4 minutes of laughter in the presence of God in these days where life is full of bitterness, anger and sadness. Those people had a blast with God, and I am just so thankful to Fr. Bill for joyfully carrying out the mission God has entrusted him. I pray brother Ren that may you find lots of laughter and joy in your heart. May you open the window of your life and allow the Holy Spirit to work in you. Praise be to God! - PingJ
