One reason probably why people just get married because people in the Philippines tend to judge those who remain single. It seems that being single means that someone is abnormal. Being alone is not synonymous to loneliness. Of course, there are three types of vocation and one is single blessedness.\n\nThe reason why some marriages become miserable because of fear of becoming single for a lifetime. And in the Philippines, where courting men is still unacceptable, indecisive women are left without option but to accept the proposal of anyone who comes their way. I wonder why.\n\nI have been contemplating on my own vocation and I think that being single is the best for me because I can maximize my gifts without a family to take care of and some people would still tell me, "Sayang naman ang genes mo." If I am going to spend my lifetime fully in service to God through the Church, nothing is wasted.
